This program empowers young people to take charge of their leadership potential by first taking charge of their inner emotional landscape. Students reflect on leadership as a practice of service and a mindset for self-growth, understanding the importance of investing in one’s own wellbeing before turning to the service of others. Students are equipped with the confidence, communication skills, and self-awareness to work individually and as a team to create positive change in their schools and communities, and to step into their potential as community leaders. We work with a for-youth, by-youth approach to providing positive role models across a range of careers and fields, broadening young people’s understandings of what they can be and accomplish, and providing a holistic and balanced approach to career advancement as they approach a significant time in their educational journeys.

Additional Note: This program was designed and developed following consultation and recommendations provided by YLAA's Youth Advisory Board - As our organisation continues to evolve, we want to make sure that we continue to represent and empower the voices of youth in their own affairs, that’s why we have created our first Youth Advisory Board - not only to ensure that our students’ interests are at the core of every aspect of our organisation, but also to give the young people we serve the opportunity to develop themselves personally, whilst contributing to our mission of ensuring a sustainable future for all youth.
