Alexis created a mobile application called HerHelp when she was 17. Having struggled with bullying throughout her schooling, shewanted to create a safe space online to encourage, guide and support women and girls through daily challenges. She had no prior coding or app experience, but wanted to make a difference - so she hopped on to YouTube and searched “how to make an app”, starting from there.
She launched the app in July 2019 and since its launch has had over 10,000 app downloads with 5 women even privately messaging Alexis and telling her that without the app they wouldn’t be alive today.
Alexis has since used her platform to share this positive message about mental health to her community through high school presentations, keynote speeches at Women In Technology events, as well as presentations at local community groups & shires such as the Rotary Club, Zonta International and the Capel Shire, spreading help & resources for woman’s mental health in regional WA.
Now Alexis is now 19 and is currently working with an app developer creating the new version of HerHelp she has worked so hard to get off the ground, with some amazing new features to come.
