Isaiah Dawe is a proud Butchulla and Garawa Saltwater man and the inspiring Founder and CEO of ID. Know Yourself (IDKY), a pioneering mentoring organization supporting Aboriginal children and young people in out-of-home care. Growing up in the foster system himself, Isaiah faced significant challenges but found strength and a sense of belonging by reconnecting with his culture.

Determined to make a difference, Isaiah pursued education, earning accolades such as the TAFE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Award. In 2018, he made history as the first Indigenous person to chair the NSW Youth Advisory Committee, using his platform to advocate for systemic change.

Through IDKY, Isaiah continues to empower Indigenous youth, offering cultural guidance, mentorship, and a path to healing. His relentless dedication to fostering hope and belonging has earned him national recognition, including being named the 2023 NSW Young Australian of the Year. Isaiah’s story and leadership serve as a powerful example of resilience, community, and the transformative impact of cultural connection.
